Pepper Jam for the Holidays!!

Chances are, if you go to a holiday party this year, there will be a dish of cream cheese covered in pepper jam just waiting to be piled on a cracker! It's traditional! Some people go for the super spicy jam while others prefer zero heat. Luckily I make both kinds, and I'm thrilled to offer a varied selection of homemade PEPPER JAM, available now!

Sunlight filtering through this jam is certainly a pretty sight. You wouldn't know by looking at it, but there's a jar of jam in this lineup that can burn a hole in your tongue! Ok, so maybe I exaggerate but.....it's pretty dang hot! I'll post more about it further down in the post. **

Bring on the Cream Cheese & Crackers!!

Let's start with the pepper jam for those of us who don't like the spiciness associated with hot peppers. This Sweet Pepper Jam is made from sweet peppers only, so it has ZERO HEAT! I've used a combo of baby Bell's in orange, yellow and red. The cider vinegar base, along with the sugar combine to make a sweet & sour combination that's simply delicious when paired with a block of cream cheese and a cracker. Any cracker will work! I really like Ritz crackers, so that's what I tend to use. But water crackers, saltines, pita chips, etc---you can't go wrong!

Ready for a little heat??

Next up, we have the pepper jams with a bit of attitude! None of these three jams will blow the hair off your head, but they do have a nice zing that comes from a universal favorite pepper: the Jalapeno! One batch of jam makes about 10 jars, and for each batch I used 12 jalapenos. So, while that sounds like a lot of pepper, when spread out over 10 jars, it's a little over 1 pepper per jar. There's just enough spice to make you smile. On the "Heat Scale of 1 to 10," these 3 jams rate about a 4 in spiciness.

  • The Jalapeno Jam contains Jalapeno peppers as well as a few red, orange, and yellow baby bell's just for a little color.

  • Jalapeno Pineapple Jam contains only Jalapeno peppers, along with 2 full cups of finely chopped pineapple!

  • Jalapeno Raspberry Jam contains only Jalapeno peppers, along with a generous amount of raspberries cooked into the jam with a few fresh berries thrown in at the last minute. Those raspberries rise to the top and make a lovely syrup that sits on top of the jam. It's lovely stuff!

Red & Green for Christmas!

** And Finally...The jam for those on the Naughty List...

I doubt Santa would be so cruel as to add this Pepper Jam to anyone's stocking, but what's stopping you!!?? This stuff is just right for those people who think nothing is too spicey for them. Or maybe you have a hard-to-buy-for person on your list that you hate trying to please. Get them a jar of this and be done!

  • "Sit in the Creek" XXX Hot Pepper Jam contains a huge amount of Green Thai chili's, Scotch Bonnet peppers, Habanero peppers, Serrano Peppers, and Red Chili's. On the Heat Scale, it's a definite 10+. It is not for the faint of heart, nor is it to be eaten in large amounts; it will take your breath, and leave you sweating & crying. Well, that's what it does to normal people. There are a few folks who enjoy this stuff and say the hotter the better! God bless them and their gastro-intestinal system. You should be prepared to sit in the creek the day after consumption. You have been warned. No, really. Be careful with this stuff. It's not fit for man nor beast! Yikes!
